“This festival shatters the myth that only pop and rock music comes out of Australia,” commented Mapex Marketing Director, Jeff Ivester. “There are many traditional Australian styles of music. This is a unique opportunity for them to be shared with an American audience.”
Why Nashville, you may ask? In October 2005, Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen announced a major trade mission to Australia in 2006 to continue developing the opportunities that exist between Tennessee and Australia. This year Tennessee will export over $400 million of trade to Australia and this number is expected to increase.
Mapex provided Pro M drum sets for the festivals stages. Over 50,000 patrons have attended the festival since its inception, enjoying Australian arts & culture, tourism & travel, education & immigration and business & trade.
“Participating in events such as the Australian Festival reinforces our commitment to world music and music-related cultural events,” added Joe Vasko, Vice President and General Manager for Mapex. “As we grow the Mapex brand, we will increase our presence in community events throughout the coming year.”
