San Diego, CA – NOV 2011 Carvin, the name musicians everywhere trust for high quality USA-made guitars, basses, instrument amplifiers, recording equipment, and sound reinforcement products, has expanded our lineup of popular Micro Bass amps with a new 2 X 10” combo, 15” extension speaker and new micro stacks.
The MB210 Micro Bass utilizes our BX250 internal bass amp as found on the other Micro Bass models. It produces 200 watts at 8 ohms, and 250 watts at 4 ohms with an optional extension speaker. The Class D power amp is 94% efficient delivering not only its full RMS but doing it very efficiently taking less AC power from the wall. The BX pre-amp is the state-of the-art with a drive knob to control the harmonic content (clean to clipping) and dual parametric EQs to bring out all the sweet tones of the bass. The contour, bass and treble controls deliver deep bass and brilliant highs. The preamp direct out XLR is pre or post selectable for the house PA or recording, and includes a ground lift and level control. The master level controls the speakers while the DI level controls the preamp output. The titanium tweeter has a DIM switch to control brightness, and a pair of 10” woofers provide clean low end. Other features include a built-in compressor, headphone/tuner line out, extension speaker out and active on/off & mute switches.
The MB1015, MB1215 and MB1515 micro stacks use the MB10, MB12 and MB15 Micro Bass amps in conjunction with the new 115MB 15” extension cabinet. The Micro Amps use the same BX internal amplifier as the MB210, in a 10”, 12” 3-way, or 15” combo cabinet. The Micro Bass amps produce big sound in a small package, with weights ranging from 26.1 pound for the MB10 to 32.6 pounds for the MB15. The 115MB extension cabinet weighs in at 30 pounds. The compact design and light weight of these amps are a welcome change for bassists who are accustomed to transporting large, heavy cabinets and heads to get the features and sound they want.
The Micro Bass amps are made in the USA by Carvin. Read more at www.carvin.com/microbass.
