Statement: D&M Holdings, Inc. from the European President: Terry O’Connell
Following the devastating earthquake of March 11, D&M has been assessing the extent of the damage and situations at both our Kawasaki Office Building, and our Shirakawa Manufacturing Facility. Here is the latest information:
Following the earthquake, all employees returned safely to their homes over the weekend.
Kawasaki Office Building
On March 14th, the office re-opened. While the building sustained some damage, repairs are currently underway and we expect operations to approach relatively normal levels within the next couple of days.
Shirakawa Manufacturing Facility
Because the facility sustained some damage, it remained closed through Wednesday, March 16th. At this moment, we try to obtain a more complete picture of the damage, put response plans in place and have physical inspections conducted to verify the facility can be re-opened safely. The Shirakawa area is experiencing significant infrastructure challenges, including the shutdown of major highways, bullet train service, water supply and potential power disruptions.
The safety and well being of our employees is our top priority. As needed, we will assist our employees with any hardships they are facing at home. We also would like to thank our customers and distribution partners for their considerations and their support towards our colleagues in Japan.”
