New Titanium Diaphragm Compression Driver For Celestion

Celestion, Ipswich UK, January 13, 2011 – Celestion, one of the World’s leading developers of professional audio loudspeakers, today announced the introduction to its compression driver range of CDX1-1440, a low profile, 1-inch exit ferrite magnet device featuring a titanium diaphragm.

World-renowned for their exceptionally high performance compression drivers, Celestion have added a brand new compression driver to their CDX range. The CDX1-1440 is a lightweight, ferrite magnet device, introduced at a very cost-competitive price point, making Celestion compression driver technology even more accessible to reinforcement system builders.

Developed at Celestion’s headquarters in Ipswich, England, CDX1-1440 is a 25mm/1-inch exit compression driver that features a 35mm/1.4-inch diameter voice coil. The device provides 25-watt power handling (rms) and delivers 106dB sensitivity over a frequency range of 1500-20,000Hz.

Optimised using sophisticated loudspeaker design techniques, including FEA (Finite Element Analysis), and featuring a ferrite magnet and titanium diaphragm, CDX1-1440 delivers exceptional performance at this extremely competitive price bracket.
