Lyris Hung comes to D’Addario with a diverse background in both business and musical performance. She is a violinist who started playing at just three years old. At age 17, she started a double-degree program between the Juilliard School of Music and Columbia University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Music from Columbia. Lyris went on to earn her Master’s of Music in Violin Performance from The Juilliard School of Music.
Since then, Lyris has become an active session violinist in NYC, performing and recording with artists from many genres. She has been heard on Bryan Adams’ MTV Unplugged, live with Bono at the 1999 Net Aid concert, live with the 2003 Trans-Siberian Orchestra and has toured Europe and America with RCA recording artist Ke. She is also part of several bands including a trip-hop comedy/music duo called Slanty Eyed Mama and HUNG, a progressive death metal band which is currently performing and touring around the country.
Most recently, Lyris was Assistant Producer at a game and software design company, Black Hammer Productions, where she managed game projects and was responsible for everything from hiring freelancers and maintaining production deadlines to creating puzzle and level designs. Lyris was also the Sound and Music Designer for most of the projects that the company created in the last few years.
