English
4th March 2008 — AKG announced the new D 40 stage microphone to bring the highest quality of audio performance to musicians for live performances. Delivering outstanding sound quality for drums, percussion instruments, wind instruments and guitar amps, the new D 40 dynamic microphone’s rugged all-metal body and ultra-thick dent-resistant grille easily withstands the rigors of live performances and life on the road.

Featuring AKG’s patented Laminate Varimotion™ diaphragm technology, the D 40’s response is fine-tuned without extra tuning resonators. With custom-built capsule mounting, a spring steel wire-mesh grill and a heavy all-metal body, the D 40 is a durable and reliable microphone solution for the active demands of live musicians.

Additionally, the highly-versatile D 40 comes equipped with an integrated stand adapter as well as a mounting bracket, making the unit easily adaptable for use on any instrument including drums, percussion, wind instruments and guitar amps. Its small size allows it to be placed optimally and unobtrusively for best performance.

Offering the latest advancements in microphone diaphragm technology, combined with a sturdy physical design, the D 40 stage microphone was designed with the live musician in mind,” explained Thomas Umbauer, Product Manager, AKG Acoustics. “The capsule is positioned right under the wire-mesh grill for an “up-close sound” and high sound pressure levels while the rugged all-metal body provides the necessary durability required of professional equipment.”
