TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival Celebrates 25th Anniversary, June 25 – July 4, 2010
“The scrappy Vancouver festival has become North America’s most comprehensive and consistently rewarding jazz showcase.”—Andrew Gilbert, Contra Costa Times (Bay Area)
“The ten-day summer jazz festival run by Coastal Jazz has a scope that matches or exceeds that of Monterey or Montreal.”—Will Layman, PopMatters, Washington, D.C.
Vancouver’s signature festival—The TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary, June 25 – July 4, 2010. Over ten days, from noon to the wee small hours, a rich tapestry of jazz, funk, Latin, fusion, and world music will resonate at venues big and small, indoor and outdoor across the city.
By taking the music to parks, community spaces, concert halls, clubs, public plazas and downtown streets, the Jazz Festival electrifies the city with over 400 concerts and energizes the spirit of more than 500,000 people each year.
This year’s festival features over 1800 musicians from Canada and around the world performing at over 40 venues citywide. There are 130 free concerts including the Gastown Jazz street festival on opening weekend (June 26-27), Canada Day on Granville Island, and the Jazz at the Roundhouse free indoor/outdoor spectacular on closing weekend (July 3-4).
The 25th annual TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival, produced by Coastal Jazz, runs from June 25th to July 4th. Tickets may be purchased at Ticketmaster 604.280.4444 or by calling the Coastal Jazz Box Office at 604.872.5200. Complete Festival details available on April 28 online.
