Partnerships and Official Program Will Reach Thousands of Young People and High End Demographic Fans
Next Generation Festival Offers 100+ Performances in Downtown Monterey, April 9 - 11, 2010 With All Events and Activities Open to Public, Free of Charge
February 9, 2010; Monterey, CA; While the Monterey Jazz Festival has always offered marketers a high end, high income, and mature demographic, it’s the Festival’s “other international event” that focuses in on the younger set.
Held every spring in downtown Monterey, this year’s Next Generation Festival will take place April 9th through 11th. It is widely regarded as one of the premier youth music events in the United States, celebrating its 40th year in 2010. The free weekend of jazz education and live performances takes place in multiple locations, including Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row, the Monterey Conference Center, and the Portola Hotel. Over 2000 students will descend on Monterey for the weekend, with an equal number of fans, making it a perfect opportunity for local businesses in downtown Monterey to market their products and services in the pages of the Next Generation Festival’s Official Program.
In addition, multiple partnership opportunities are available, ranging from an Official On-Site Marketing Partnership to Presenting Partnership, all offering a direct pipeline to the country’s top young musicians, their teachers, parents, colleagues, friends, and fans.
The Festival has contracted with Jennifer Filzen to sell space in the Official Program of the Next Generation Festival. A sales and online marketing consultant and music industry professional, Jennifer Filzen is the owner of both Rock Star Marketing and Asilomar Records, an independent record label. As a formally trained singer in opera and jazz, Ms. Filzen is also a songwriter and performs under the name “Sirena” and has released two recordings, 2007’s Sirena and 2010’s Groovement.
“I am extremely excited to be able to offer this marketing opportunity to Monterey businesses,” noted Filzen. “This will be a very cost-effective means for marketers to reach a buying audience.”
Pricing for ads in the Official Program are available at affordable rates, with a ¼ page available at $250. Those wishing more information on advertising in the Official Program of the Next Generation Festival are invited to contact Jennifer Filzen for space reservations and information.
Those interested in partnership opportunities with Next Generation Festival or the Monterey Jazz Festival, are invited to contact MJF Marketing Director, Paul S. Fingerote.
“We’re very pleased to be able to offer this very attractive demographic to potential partners and advertisers who want to market to the country’s top young jazz musicians and their fans. These young people are the leaders of their peer groups, so selling to them sells to their friends as well,” added Fingerote. “We’ve made it very cost-effective to participate, and we’re eager to help the business community reach this vital market.”
