27 October 2008 — Mexican funk rockers, Kinky, are now officially endorsing G&L guitars. Having completed their fifth album, Barracuda, and completed tours of the US, Puerto Rico and their home country, the band is reportedly delighted their music has been used in TV commercials to promote cars and beer. Holding down the bass seat in Kinky, Cesar Pliego plays an array of G&L L-2500 5-string models in black, sunburst and natural ash, all fitted with maple fingerboards. These instruments deliver the punchy sound I’ve always looked for in a bass and when I feel that power I get revved up, which keeps me moving all night long.” His enthusiasm for G&L is also shared by the band’s frontman/guitarist, Gil Cerezo, who plays a custom built black ASAT Classic Bluesboy Semi-Hollow.

With WeImprovise! I set out to build a different kind of promotion & discovery platform — supportive, expansive, & inclusive, for music, musicians (students, performers, educators, & researchers), and the wide-ranging industry that supports music worldwide.
The focus is jazz, blues, & roots-folk-world music — incidentally the music that feeds pop & rock creativity — along with the inclusion of cultural & sociological aspects without which the music cannot truly be engaged with.
What you see is the beginning, a proof of concept to demonstrate possibilities and inspire ideas.
