26 November 2008 — Vigier, the pioneer of carbon-fiber technology in guitar design, constantly searches for new ways to improve its instruments. Sharp attention to detail and an ongoing quest for perfection have made Vigier synonymous with innovation. Recent experimentation using a new Teflon nut has led to a breakthrough that greatly improves tuning and overall stability of the instruments. By dramatically reducing friction at the nut, where tuning problems are most likely to occur, strings will glide effortlessly through the slots of the new Teflon nut and come back in tune when players are using the vibrato bar or bending strings.
This new Teflon nut is easily replaceable, requiring no need for glue or a luthier. Players will be able to make any necessary changes on their own instruments and select the nut that best fits their preferred string gauge.
The new Teflon nut will be installed as a standard feature on all Vigier instruments beginning in January 2009.

With WeImprovise! I set out to build a different kind of promotion & discovery platform — supportive, expansive, & inclusive, for music, musicians (students, performers, educators, & researchers), and the wide-ranging industry that supports music worldwide.
The focus is jazz, blues, & roots-folk-world music — incidentally the music that feeds pop & rock creativity — along with the inclusion of cultural & sociological aspects without which the music cannot truly be engaged with.
What you see is the beginning, a proof of concept to demonstrate possibilities and inspire ideas.
