Drummer/Educator/Author Joe Bergamini Joins Hudson Music

United States
26 February 2008 — Hudson Music founders Rob Wallis and Paul Siegel are proud to announce the addition of leading drummer, educator and author Joe Bergamini to the Hudson Music team. As the company’s Senior Drum Editor, Bergamini will be responsible for overseeing print and audio projects and assisting with DVD production. He will also work closely with Hudson’s artists to help formulate content for a variety of projects and media.

"We look forward to Joe’s fresh perspective and expect that his expertise will not only help us to increase our production capacity, but will also help bring Hudson Music products to an even higher level of quality and educational value,” says Wallis.

Joe Bergamini maintains an active and diverse career as a drummer, educator and author. The New Jersey native grew up immersed in the New York City music scene and has played professionally throughout the area in Broadway musicals such as “Movin’ Out” and “Jersey Boys” as well as popular local bands including Happy the Man, 4Front and Power Windows. Joe has also performed and recorded as a sideman with numerous other artists.

As an author, Joe is a three-time winner in the book category of Modern Drummer’s Readers Poll and was formerly Percussion Editor for Carl Fischer Publications. He remains a contributing writer for Modern Drummer magazine while some of his most recently published books include: MD Classic Tracks, It’s Your Move (with Dom Famularo), Drum Techniques of Led Zeppelin, Drumming Out Of The Shadows - The Drumming of Jason Bittner and Shadows Fall and Polyrhythmic Potential (with Chris Pennie).

Joe’s commitment to drum education keeps him active as a drum clinician, too. He has given hundreds of seminars in schools, retail stores and conventions; appearing at the Ultimate Drummers Weekend (Melbourne, Australia), the Cape Breton Drum Festival (Nova Scotia, Canada), and KOSA (Vermont, USA). In 2007 he was the featured drum clinician on the first Tama Dayz US tour and he maintains a busy private teaching schedule at his studio in New Jersey.
