Montreal, Canada: April 14th, 2008 – It was the perfect time to break out the bubbly at Godin Guitars’ head-office in Montreal as the company joined together to celebrate Founder and President Robert Godin on his 60th birthday and a very special anniversary for Seagull Guitars.
Congratulations were in order as this year marks the Silver Anniversary of Seagull Guitars, the renowned acoustic brand he introduced 25 years ago. In 1982, from his factory in LaPatrie Quebec, the original Seagull S6 was born. Today, the Seagull line of acoustic guitars is sold globally and consists of over 60 models, all crafted with the same core principles and attention to detail that have made believers out of acoustic guitarists the world over.
Being the constant innovator that he is, Robert Godin has brought many advancements to the world of acoustic guitars, such as the Compound Curved top, Integrated Set Necks, Custom Polish finishes and Select Pressure Tested solid tops. Innovations such as these have helped push the boundaries of acoustic tone, craftsmanship and new guitar concepts, and further emphasizes the fact that Robert Godin’s enthusiasm for guitars and the future remains as passionate as ever. Happy Birthday Robert and cheers to another 25 years of Canadian guitar craftsmanship!
