Eventide Timefactor Twin Delay Stompbox Slides Into Key Role In The Distinctive Sound Of Legendary Bottleneck Guitarist Sonny Landreth [ Winter NAMM 2008 ]
Landreth, revered for his distinctive slide sound on eight solo albums, including the Grammy nominated Road We’re On in 2003, has also lent his fiery six-string talents to countless recordings by name artists.
“I really like the TimeFactor a lot,” said Landreth. “Like a lot of other players, I have used Eventide effects in the studio, so I was very interested to see how it would perform in a stompbox configuration. They’ve definitely nailed this one for guitar players. Sonically, it has great detail, is very rich and natural sounding with a lot of programmable options.”
Landreth is currently on tour using the TimeFactor and is taking advantage of whatever downtime he has from the tour to finish his current album, featuring special guests Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Eric Johnson, and Robben Ford, among others.
TimeFactor twin delay stompbox includes Eventide’s 10 best delay effects integrated into a compact, upgradable package. TimeFactor features MIDI, USB for software upgrades, and 10 time-tested stereo or dual mono delay effects, including Digital Delay, Vintage Delay, Tape Echo, Modulated Delay, Ducked Delay, Band Delay, Filter Pong, MultiTap Delay, Reverse Delay, and a 12-second Looper.
TimeFactor also features 20 factory/user presets, instant program change, real-time control via MIDI, expression pedal, or 10 knobs, and true analog bypass. Tap tempo and MIDI clock sync are tools that Landreth found particularly useful. TimeFactor is housed in a rugged cast metal enclosure and features reliable metal footswitches for instant preset access. TimeFactor excels in the studio or on stage.
