The Institute Officially Opens Its Doors!

United States
November 13th 2007 — The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, Europe’s finest school of modern music for students of guitar, bass, drums and vocals officially opened the doors on its new premises this month.

The Institute, whose graduates have been playing and performing at the highest levels of the music industry for almost a quarter of a century, recently relocated to fantastic new facilities in north-west London and the official Opening Ceremony held on November 12th was a chance to celebrate the arrival of such a prestigious school to its new home.

Pete Whittard (MD) , Mayor of Brent, Councillor Harshadbhai Patel, MP for Brent East (Sarah Teather, Lib Dem) , Paul Kirkham ( Director/ owner )

Following a short and professional performance by current degree students, the Rt.Hon. Sarah Teather, MP for Brent East, spoke glowingly of her pride that the Institute should choose the borough of Brent as its new home. She went on to congratulate the school on its commitment to providing students with access to world class teaching and training in state of the art facilities. This was followed by a short and entertaining speech and the official opening of the new facility by the Mayor of Brent, Councillor Harshadbhai Patel. Having lauded the achievements and successes of the Institute and eloquently and passionately extolled the virtues of music as a force for good in society, the Mayor proceeded to take up a pair of drum sticks and have a go himself!
