4 October 2007 — In just two weeks time, Berlin will join the world’s elite artistic and cultural cities where the Steven Spielbergs and Timbalands of tomorrow will learn their tricks of the trade. October 18, 2007, marks the official opening of SAE Institute’s brand-new campus in the German capital. With more than 5000 m2 of floor space, SAE Berlin will be the largest state-of-the-art private media campus in Europe. Annually, more than 600 students will receive the first-class training necessary to become the expert web designers, directors, audio engineers, and game designers the industry is looking for.
The newly inaugurated campus will host the third annual SAE Alumni Convention on October 18 and 19, 2007. The two-day event, organised by the SAE Alumni Association, is one of Berlin’s most influential networking events, bringing together representatives from the local media and arts community, industry, and society at large. Once again, the extensive event schedule is packed with workshops, panel discussions and lectures by renowned experts, SAE lecturers, and media professionals. Leading companies such as Apple, Sennheiser and Roland will present their newest products at the convention trade show and in their exclusive demo suites. A particular highlight is the Convention Party on October 18 at Fritz Club in Berlin’s Postbahnhof, featuring exciting live acts and the 2007 SAE Alumni Awards.
SAE was founded in 1976. By the end of the “80s, the school had begun to expand its original course offer and had added a multimedia and a film department. This reorientation prompted a name change to “SAE College” and subsequently to “SAE Institute”. Today, SAE is the world’s largest media education network for audio engineering, digital film & animation, web design & development, and game design, spanning 21 countries on 4 continents.
The SAE Concept
SAE’s focus is on innovative teaching methods and hands-on training using leading-edge technology, all of it offered for a wide range of professional training programs. During their studies and upon graduation, students are encouraged to use the international SAE network to establish ties with the industry to find employment in their field.
International Exchange Program
To make it possible for students to gather experience abroad, SAE offers easy ways to switch from one institute to another. This can help students to get acquainted with different approaches to their chosen profession and to jump-start an international career.
Frequently scheduled workshops and seminars with producers, managers, and creatives from the recording, film, and multimedia industries provide students with crucial real-life experience. Many of our featured guest lecturers started their careers at SAE themselves.
