Community Launches i2W8 At PLASA
New at PLASA is an important addition to the iBOX Series. The Community i2W8 is a two-way, full-range loudspeaker system designed to provide high quality music and voice reproduction in applications requiring smooth, ultra-wide, horizontal coverage. It provides an uncompromised musical system in a compact, attractive package. Designed for use in distributed systems and for fill, the loudspeaker enclosure and baffle are constructed of 13-ply Baltic birch; LF cones are low mass, high stiffness carbon fibre and the HF driver has a titanium diaphragm. All drivers are Ferrofluid-cooled. The LF drivers and centrally positioned ultra-wide 120 degree HF pattern control horn have been engineered to provide superior uniform pattern over the widest possible bandwidth. The unique “Super-V” configuration of the LF drivers provides an exceptionally uniform midrange pattern that would be impossible to create with a conventional flat wooden baffle.
With 600W programme power handling, the multipurpose i2W8 is available in either black or white painted finish, with a matching steel mounting yoke included. It can also be ordered with a factory-installed 200W autoformer for 70V/100V applications (model i2W8T). Its six-sided, low profile enclosure and ultra-wide coverage pattern make the i2W8 ideal for low ceiling venues as well as for monitoring and down, side and underbalcony fill in theatre and live music clubs.
