FARMINGDALE, NY, July 27, 2007 — The success of D’Addario & Company’s “Buy Now” initiative has spawned yet another convenient option: the Online Gift Certificate. With consumers developing a greater comfort level purchasing items online with gift cards and credits, it was a natural progression for D’Addario to implement the new program. The consumer simply purchases a “gift certificate” in various preset denominations and then applies the amount to a purchase at the D’Addario online store.
The consumer makes an online purchase in predetermined increments—for example, $10, $15, $20, $25 and so forth— then receives a code representing the gift card dollar amount. The consumer who then visits the D’Addario online store can apply the total dollar amount to the desired product purchase being shipped within the continental U.S.. The product is then supplied locally from one of D’Addario’s numerous participating “Buy Now” dealers. It’s a simple transaction for all parties.
What if the gift certificate exceeds the purchase in amount? Once a gift certificate is applied to a purchase, by means of checking “gift certificate/promotional code” field at the D’Addario online store, any balance is automatically carried over to future purchases.
“It’s a new way of giving that’s as easy for the giver as it is for the receiver,” remarks Danielle Record, D’Addario Online Marketing Manager. “We’re offering an online option that’s analogous to the ever-popular gift card. The recipient gets to choose the ideal product. It’s a thoughtful and generous alternative, and it introduces more people to the wealth of interesting products available online through D’Addario & Company’s online store.”
