Zaolla Silverline Debuts The Artist Instrument Cable Featuring Clear Connect Technology™

United States
English
Buena Park, CA, 19 July 2007 — Zaolla Silverline, the leading innovator of cable technologies for the musical-instrument and pro-audio industries, is proud to introduce The Artist instrument cable. In The Artist, Zaolla Silverline combines the legendary performance of the company’s unique hybrid conductor with Clear Connect Technology by G&H Industries. The result is an instrument cable in which transparency and touch sensitivity combine to redefine the role of the instrument cable in the signal chain. The Artist is ideal for professional studio musicians, serious home recordists, and anyone seeking superior performance from their instrument and their amplifier.

The Artist, like all Zaolla Silverline designs, is designed around a solid-silver center conductor. Silver, the most conductive element on earth, is 7% less resistant than copper. This substantial improvement in conductivity is manifest in every aspect of signal transmission. All else being equal, the bandwidth of a silver conductor is greater than that of a copper conductor. Thus, a silver conductor yields greater HF and LF transmission and overall signal clarity.

While it is true that silver is superior to copper as a conductor of electricity, this is not to say that silver is superior to copper in every application. Low-level analog audio signals benefit from the MF boost and “warmth” associated with copper. Thus, all Zaolla Silverline instrument and microphone cables feature a solid-silver center conductor and an enamel-coated, stranded-copper ancillary conductor in a unique hybrid configuration for the best of both worlds.

An instrument cable is on as good as its signal-to-noise ratio. Zaolla Silverline shields the unique hybrid conductor at the core of The Artist with equally unique redundant shielding. Conductive PVC combines with a traditional copper braid to provide superior EMI, RFI, and electrostatic rejection without the added stiffness of a second copper braid. Similarly, foamed polyethylene separates the conductor from the shield without adding stiffness.

Zaolla Silverline focuses on design as much as on materials. The Artist is an instrument cable by design, not a microphone cable terminated for instrument. The unique features of The Artist coexist in true coaxial cable geometry. This accounts for the unique flexibility of The Artist among boutique instrument cables, most of which are secretly microphone cables terminated for instrument. The Artist is as much at home on the stage as it is in the studio.

Clear Connect Technology enables G&H Industries to crimp the brass tip of the plug directly to the conductor of the cable. This eliminates the solder joint, the weakest link in the signal chain as well as in the cable assembly. The conductor of the cable replaces the core of the plug, preserving as much of the player’s tone and technique as physics will allow. Clear Connect Technology is the finishing touch to a world-class design.

Jonathan Pusey, National Marketing Manager of Zaolla Silverline, commented on The Artist instrument cable, “The Artist is the pinnacle of our achievement. Clear Connect Technology allows us to achieve levels of transparency and touch sensitivity that we had previously only dreamed of. It’s the next-best thing to hardwiring your instrument directly to your amp. Gone are the days of the instrument cable as a disposable accessory. The Artist is a component that must be played to be believed.”

The Artist is now shipping in straight to straight (3-, 5-, 10-, 15-, and 20-feet), straight to right-angle (10-, 15-, and 20-feet), and pedal effect coupler (6- and 12-inches) configurations. MSRP ranges from $38.00 to $183.00. The Artist is backed by Zaolla Silverline’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. Please contact a local Zaolla Silverline dealer for details.
