Indochine Returns In Force With Arpege Son Lumiére And Meyer Sound M Series

United States
21 February 2007 — French rockers Indochine played a series of sold-out dates throughout Europe in support of their recently released double album, Alice et June. The tour, which kicked off last March, concluded with several shows in Brussels, Geneva, Dijon, and back-to-back performances at Paris’ Bercy Arena.

The band’s breakthrough 1983 single L’Aventurier scored them a strong following in France, Benelux, and Scandinavia throughout much of that decade. They have enjoyed a tremendous resurgence in recent years, beginning with their 2002 release, Paradize, which sold in excess of a million copies. The current album features a collaboration with Placebo front man Brian Molko.

FOH engineer Philippe Dubich mixed the band through an audio system provided by leading tour providers Arpege Son Lumière. The system was based around two arrays of 10 M3D line array loudspeakers, augmented by a center hang of eight M’elodie™ ultracompact high-power curvilinear array loudspeakers. Sixteen 700-HP ultrahigh-power subwoofers in cardioid formation handled the low end, with eight MSL-4 horn-loaded long-throw loudspeakers covering sidefill duties and six UPA-1P compact wide coverage loudspeakers for frontfill. A single Galileo™ loudspeaker management system supplied drive processing for the rig.

“The Meyer self-powered system really saves us a tremendous amount of time in setup and load out,” remarked Arpege Production Manager Philippe Barguirdjian. “The RMS™ (remote monitoring system) facility is also very, very useful. The Meyer Sound gear really makes our job much easier.”
