Gibraltar’s New “HHOT” Hat Adds Different Sound Dimension [ Winter NAMM 2007 ]
23 January 2007 — Gibraltar’s new Hi Hat Off-Time attachment (SC-HHOT) adds an additional layer of rhythm to the drummer’s sound. When attached to an existing hi hat stand along with a second set of hi hat cymbals or bells, a “chick” sound is created on the off beat, keeping time with your hi hat foot. The HHOT fills out your sound for all styles and grooves.
Each SC-HHOT features an instructional DVD produced by HHOT inventor Stephen Marnell. The DVD includes setup and playing instructions, as well as groove examples for all styles of music.
This innovative drum accessory is yet another example of Gibraltar’s leadership of the drum hardware market.

With WeImprovise! I set out to build a different kind of promotion & discovery platform — supportive, expansive, & inclusive, for music, musicians (students, performers, educators, & researchers), and the wide-ranging industry that supports music worldwide.
The focus is jazz, blues, & roots-folk-world music — incidentally the music that feeds pop & rock creativity — along with the inclusion of cultural & sociological aspects without which the music cannot truly be engaged with.
What you see is the beginning, a proof of concept to demonstrate possibilities and inspire ideas.
