24 May 2007 — Launched by NS Design at last year’s Frankfurt Messe, the WAV Series family of affordable, electric bowed instruments has now been joined by the new WAV 4 electric violin. Following the debut and acceptance into the mainstream of the WAV 4 electric upright bass, the new WAV 4 violin is a full scale, solid body, 4-string electric violin featuring NS Design’s proprietary Polar™ piezo passive pickup system that requires no battery.
Designed by Ned Steinberger, renowned for raising the bar in terms of both design and innovation, this headless violin shares the essential features of the original CR Series, including NS Design’s patented locking tuner system. Boasting figured maple tops, the new instruments are available in a choice of Amber Burst, Trans Black or Trans Red and supplied with a hard shell moulded case.

With WeImprovise! I set out to build a different kind of promotion & discovery platform — supportive, expansive, & inclusive, for music, musicians (students, performers, educators, & researchers), and the wide-ranging industry that supports music worldwide.
The focus is jazz, blues, & roots-folk-world music — incidentally the music that feeds pop & rock creativity — along with the inclusion of cultural & sociological aspects without which the music cannot truly be engaged with.
What you see is the beginning, a proof of concept to demonstrate possibilities and inspire ideas.
