Boston, MA, April 30, 2007 — Auralex Acoustics, Inc., the industry leader in innovative sound control solutions, recently had an assortment of its best-selling products installed in the studios of the Music Production and Engineering (MP&E) department at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, located in Boston, MA.

Berklee College of Music is the world’s largest independent music college and the premier institution for the study of contemporary music. The school’s MP&E department consists of 12 studios and approximately 300 students. Auralex’s SpaceCouplers were installed in Studio A, a tracking and mixing room, to increase the effective reverberation time in the live room, and produce a greater sense of space and air when cutting live instruments, such as drums, piano, horns, and percussion. For added diffusion, Auralex’s SpaceArrays were also installed in Studio A.

“We are extremely pleased with the products that were provided by Auralex,” states Dan Thompson, Assistant Chair of Berklee’s MP&E department. “Both the SpaceArray and the SpaceCoupler were the clear choice for our needs. They are attractive, easy to install, and the quality is outstanding. Our students are already benefiting from the addition of these innovative products from Auralex Acoustics. Also, this gives us the opportunity to demonstrate to our students the importance of acoustics in getting the best possible sound while recording and mixing.”

Designed by Russ Berger for Auralex Acoustics, the SpaceCoupler optimizes acoustical environments for a wide range of performance and recording styles. By providing an acoustical boundary interaction between loosely coupled spaces, the SpaceCoupler generates a low level reverberant tail to create a full, well-developed sound even in small footprint spaces. Strong and lightweight, the beautiful 24”x24” solid wood panels install easily and can be used in a variety of placement options, including “T-bar” grids.

The SpaceArray, also designed by Russ Berger for Auralex Acoustics, combines excellent hemispherical acoustical diffusion with a top quality wood finish. Based on a quasi-random series that provides superior performance without visual patterning, the SpaceArray is ideal for control rooms, auditoriums, performance venues, listening rooms, home theaters and worship spaces. The SpaceArray also comes in the same 24”x24” solid wood panels and is as versatile as the SpaceCoupler.

The SpaceCoupler and SpaceArray are among the first offerings in the new pArtScience product line, a family of acoustical treatments designed for exceptional performance with a custom look, all at an affordable price.
