Framus Offers New Neck Construction For The Spitfire [ Musikmesse 2007 ]
In this case, it is not only related to the new look of the headstock with a glued-on Flamed Maple veneer. The Spitfire has also been substantially enhanced: so far, the adjustment of the truss rod could only be done by means of the allen screw on the body-side. Hence, Framus has developed a new double-adjustable truss rod, which is accessible from the headstock, thus simplifying the maintenance of the instrument enormously. The truss rod is bending in itself, it doesn’t need any fixation in the wood construction. This supports the resonance behaviour of the neck and prevents the occurrence of so-called dead-spots. Thus, the new neck of the Spitfire combines a better adjustability with optimised resonance properties — its trade-mark is the extra wide skunk-stripe on the back-side of the neck.
By that, the new Spitfire is a fusion of professional features, best woods and noble aesthetics — a true professional guitar with versatile sounds.
