Warwick Thumb Bolt-On “Flamin” Blonde” Ltd 2007 [ Musikmesse 2007 ]
Rare precious woods like Lacewood and Yellow Heart are forming the base for this new interpretation of the Thumb Bolt-on: the three-layer body in a sandwich construction creates a natural contrast, , which is based on the natural charisma of the two tone woods coming from South America. Thanks to thin layers of black Ekanga veneer, it is additionally emphasised, and entirely left to this naturalness by the wax finish. The Wenge neck is blocked by Yellow Heart, thus making also the back of this bass real eye-catcher.
It was named “Flamin” Blonde” especially due to its flame inlays of the fingerboard made of different red coral, which also can be found on the headstock and the nacre controllers. These inlays, manufactured in a complex way, were — by the way — used the first time for this bass and are also available as an option in the Warwick Custom Shop as of now
Passive MEC J/MM-pickups were used for the multifaceted sound of the “Flamin” Blonde“, whereas the humbucker can be differently configured by means of a mini-switch (parallel, serial or as single-coil). Before the signal is being fed to the amp via the jack, it goes through an active MEC 3-band electronics, which enables a refinement of the sound related to the various usage scenarios.
The Thumb Bolt-on “Flamin” Blonde” LTD 2007 is available as 4- and 5-string and limited to only 300 units (in total) worldwide. It is equipped with Warwick EMP-strings ex-factory. Each model is hand-signed by Warwick founder Hans-Peter Wilfer.
