MX500 FIREWIRE Dual Stereo/Surround Reverb Processor expands Lexicon’s line of home studio / live application processors, offering an incredibly powerful 4-in 4-out firewire companion to the highly successful MX200 & MX400 range

28 March, 2007 — Lexicon®, a Harman International Company (NYSE-HAR), exhibits the MX500 FIREWIRE Dual Stereo / Surround Reverb Processor. This new single rack-space, 4-in, 4-out unit combines an intuitive front-panel design with Lexicon’s “Hardware Plug-In” technology with Lexistream™- an audio streaming firewire technology and VST/AU interface for use with software recording platforms. Featuring a wide array of rich, complex reverb algorithms, delays, effects and dbx® dynamics, the MX500 is an ideal package equally suited for the home studio or live use. The MX500 also offers an affordable entry into the ever-expanding world of surround applications. In any application, the MX500 provides a versatility and sound that is unmistakably Lexicon.

Like its award-nominated sibling, the MX200, the MX500 has removed the compromises associated with using hardware in the home studio environment. The Lexistream™ Firewire Hardware Plug-In format allows users to have complete plug-in functionality with up to 96khz streaming audio from their MX500 within any VST or Audio Units software environment, enabling users to control an MX500 exactly as they would any software plug-in while enjoying the sonic benefits only hardware can provide. Equally at home for live applications, the MX500 supplies the FOH/live sound engineer intuitive front panel control with a backlit LCD screen for parameter displays. A 4-in, 4-out design, the MX500 offers unprecedented connectivity through TRS balanced I/O, dual S/PDIF connectors, MIDI, and firewire. The MX500 also offers 4 channel surround algorithms, making it an extremely affordable offering to the ever-expanding surround market.

The MX500 will be available at an estimated street price of $499.95.

Commenting on the release of the Lexicon MX500, Jeff Phillips, National Sales Manager at Harman Music Group, stated: “MX500 is truly a breakthrough product. This product represents an unprecedented level of sonic performance, connectivity, and features”
