Wayne Static Joins ESP Family With New Signature Model [ Musikmesse 2007 ]
The LTD Wayne-600 is based on LTD’s popular EX Series body style, and is highlighted with a black diamond plate body plate. The body of the Wayne-600 is mahogany, with a three-piece maple set neck and ebony fingerboard that features 24XJ frets and a custom pearloid Static-X logo inlay. The black nickel hardware includes Grover tuners, a Tonepros T3B-T bridge and a Tonepros T1Z locking tailpiece. One Seymour Duncan Distortion pickup is controlled with a single volume knob.
“We are so happy to have Wayne playing ESP’s,” says Allen Steelgrave, ESP director of marketing and artist relations. “He’s a respected innovator and great guitarist. We’re proud he’s chosen to represent the ESP brand.”
“I’m usually skeptical about trying new guitars, because in the past, anything I’ve tried has never sounded as good as what I was already playing,” says Static. “The ESP I got just blew everything away. It’s that simple.”
Static-X has been on the forefront of the industrial metal scene since their formation in 1994. With highly acclaimed albums such as “Wisconsin Death Trip”, “Machine” and last year’s “Start A War”, Static-X has long been regarded as innovative and powerful by critics and fans alike. Spring 2007 will see the release of the new Static-X record, “Cannibal” (Warner Bros.). In addition to their own records, Wayne and Static-X have contributed tunes to movie and game soundtracks such as Resident Evil, Need for Speed, ad Saw III.
