New York, 28 March 2007 — Carl Fischer and the Vandoren Company have joined forces with ten of the world’s most talented jazz saxophonists in order to create The Vandojazz: Etude and Exercise Book for Saxophone (WF67—$24.95), which is a must-have for any student or teacher. This compilation covers several musical styles as well as etudes in order to improve improvisation, technique, lyricism, and overall musicianship for the saxophone.

The Vandojazz: Etude and Exercise Book for Saxophone features Don Aquilo, Frank Catalano, Jeff Coffin, Denis DiBlasio, Gary Foster, Hayes Greenfield, Dan Higgins, Billy Kerr, Dan Moretti, and Harry Skoler. Vandojazz encompasses the unparallel talent of these legendary musicians. The book first provides a biography of each musician. Following this, the artists provide an explanation of their inspiration in order to better convey the philosophy of their writing. Lastly, the book includes special etudes and exercises to help solve particular jazz performance techniques as well as tips on how to perform these exercises.
