South By Southwest (SXSW) Music Conference And Festival Announces More Notable Daytime Events

Austin, Texas, February 20, 2007 — The South By Southwest Music Conference and Festival announces four notable additions to daytime conference events. The SXSW Music Conference will take place March 14th through 17th at the Austin Convention Center. On Thursday, March 15, Tom Anderson, President and co-founder of MySpace will speak at an SXSW Interview. “Comedy On The Music Circuit” joins the schedule on Friday, March 16 with David Cross, Patton Oswalt and Zach Galifianakis speaking. On Saturday, March 17, rocker/writer Garland Jeffreys, Public Enemy founder Chuck D and Austin favorite Alejandro Escovedo join a panel examining race and music, titled “Say It Loud, I’m What? And I’m Proud.” Later on Saturday, impressario Lou Adler, rock icon Michelle Phillips, and legendary manager Andrew Loog Oldham will speak about the groundbreaking music festival, “Monterey Pop At 40.”

These events join the schedule which includes previously announced featured speakers including keynote Pete Townshend, Emmylou Harris, Terry McBride, David Byrne, Rickie Lee Jones, Booker T Jones and Iggy Pop. The full schedule includes over 70 separate panels, workshops, demo listening sessions and the SXSW mentor program. The SXSW Continuing Legal Education program offers credit to entertainment attorneys.

SXSW Music Conference events join over 125 companies with booths at the SXSW Trade Show & Exhibition at the Austin Convention Center. At night, over 1400 musical acts perform on over 65 stages in downtown Austin at the SXSW Music Festival.
