London, UK, Nov 29 — Sibelius Software, the leader in music notation software, today announces a new range of Education Packs that make it easy and affordable for UK schools and universities to equip their Music and Music Technology classrooms and ICT labs.
Sibelius Education Packs provide multiple copies of Sibelius 4 — the best-selling music notation software — plus controller keyboards, speakers, audio interfaces and microphones from M-Audio, and Pro Tools® audio production software and hardware from Digidesign®. Because Sibelius, M-Audio and Digidesign are all part of Avid Technology Inc — the worldwide leader in digital media production — Sibelius Education Packs offer equipment at up to 40% less than normal education prices.
The Packs have been carefully designed to satisfy all requirements of Music and Music Technology curricula for students aged 11 and upward, including Edexcel’s Music Technology A-level. Two kinds of Packs are available: Class and Studio.
Class Packs provide music software and hardware for 17 computers in a classroom or ICT lab (typically consisting of 16 shared computers for students and one for the class teacher). Different quantities are also available. Class Packs come in two kinds — Music and Music Technology with a different selection of products for each.
Studio Packs provide a high-end control surface/digital mixer, audio interface and range of software to create a professional recording studio for A-level Music Technology students.
To cater for different budgets, three different levels of each of the Packs are available at three different price points: Entry-Level, Mid-Range and Flagship.
“This is the first of many exciting new solutions we can offer educational customers now that we are part of Digidesign and Avid,” says Jeremy Silver, MD of Sibelius Software. “We’ve created these Packs so that schools and colleges can provide fantastic equipment for their students within their limited budgets — equipment that fully supports Music and Music Technology courses.”
