Radial Debuts High-End Studio Series: Forest Audio® [ Winter NAMM 2007 ]
According to Radial Engineering president, Peter Janis: “Many folks have been asking me: why in the world would we launch another brand when Radial is so well respected and known? The answer is simple: Radial specializes in instrument interface gear while Forest Audio will focus on high-end studio gear.”
“Back some 30 years ago, when Denis Rozon and I started developing our first products, we penned the name Forest Electronics in honor of William DeForest, the inventor of the vacuum tube. Creativity has always been the cornerstone of our product development. Back in 1978, we built our first tube distortion pedals and in 1980 built the world’s first three channel guitar amp. We felt that this creative spirit could live on with the Forest name right along side Radial."
“And creativity is exactly what you will see! We already have several products on the drawing board including the Forest Q6 counter-coil EQ, the Forest F1 high performance mic preamplifier, and several other goodies too! We plan to introduce the Q6 at NAMM and hope to finish up the preamp by March to introduce it at the Musk Messe. Needless to say the world does NOT need another preamp or EQ, unless of course it truly advances the art of making music. The Preamp has been in development for over 2 years and I gave our engineering team one simple instruction at the outset: If we are going to build a mic pre, it must be the best ever!”
