22 January 2007 — Yoav DeBasc, president and founder of Puresound Percussion, has announced a major improvement to the playing surface of Puresound’s rubber Speedball bass drum beater. The specially-designed, self-aligning beater now features an integrated rubber surface that is mechanically bonded to the beater head for improved durability and performance. With a hardness in between felt and plastic, the rubber Speedball creates a deep, yet articulate tone that is recommended for a variety of playing styles.
Like Puresound’s felt and plastic models, the upgraded rubber Speedball also features an adjustable counter weight and a stainless steel shaft in a choice of standard or extended length. Speedball bass drum beaters carry a suggested list price of $32.95 and are available at leading drumshops and music stores.

With WeImprovise! I set out to build a different kind of promotion & discovery platform — supportive, expansive, & inclusive, for music, musicians (students, performers, educators, & researchers), and the wide-ranging industry that supports music worldwide.
The focus is jazz, blues, & roots-folk-world music — incidentally the music that feeds pop & rock creativity — along with the inclusion of cultural & sociological aspects without which the music cannot truly be engaged with.
What you see is the beginning, a proof of concept to demonstrate possibilities and inspire ideas.
