Anaheim, CA — January 18, 2007 — Digidesign announces the appointment of Chant Peck as Product Specialist. In this role, Peck will liaise with audio engineers around the world, working with the Digidesign® VENUE live sound environment product line. Peck joins an all-star team of industry pros, including live sound innovator Robert Scovill, Steve McCale, and Dave Skaff. With more than 15 years of experience as both a live sound reinforcement and studio recording engineer, Peck has worked with many regional studios and sound reinforcement companies in the south-western United States.
An accomplished engineer, educator, producer, and consultant, Peck got his start as a stage manager in 1991, coordinating bands and clubs for the AZ Music Conference in Tempe. In 1994, Peck started his own production company, Chant Audio Productions, which provides studio and live recordings, educational assistance and development, audio consultation, as well as beta testing services. He also worked as a staff audio engineer in the Arizona cities of Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Chandler.
To promote audio recording education to the community, Peck developed the Audio Production Technologies program for the Maricopa Community College District to use at its nine campuses across the Phoenix metropolitan area. The program encompasses three studio recording classes, two sound reinforcement classes, two digital audio workstation classes, and an internship program, which currently enrolls hundreds of students each semester. Additionally, Peck held positions as the Assistant Technical Director and Front-of- House Engineer for Mountain Valley Church, a mid-size house of worship in Scottsdale, In 2005 he had the distinction of working alongside six-time TEC Award-winner Robert Scovill, who was on staff at Mountain Valley Church at the time as the programming and musical director.
“Chant brings a very balanced set of skills in numerous audio disciplines, including professional-level live sound, recording, and education,” says Scovill, now Digidesign’s live sound market manager. “He’s extremely well-versed in all the nuances of the VENUE system, having worked with it extensively on numerous projects. He will be a significant addition to our team.”
"I’m honoured that Digidesign has invited me to become a member of its team,” says Peck. “I look forward to working with Robert and Digidesign to help bring the innovative VENUE system to audio engineers worldwide.”
