Gilmartin will work out of D’Addario’s Farmingdale, New York headquarters. He will direct all aspects of artist relations, including advertisements, multi-media, signing new endorsees, and other endorsee-related matters for the global artist relations effort for D’Addario, Evans, HQ, Planet Waves, and Rico brands. Additionally, Gilmartin will manage Steve Lobmeier, A&R Representative, and related the activities of the D’Addario AR team; Product Specialists: Rory Mazzela/Rico and Carol Carpenter/Evans, Sales & Marketing Managers: Mac Kamihama/Japan, Jean François Bescond/Europe, Peter D’Addario OEM Sales/Bluegrass and Freelance AR rep John Ferrante; D’Addario/Planet Waves & Evans.

Before joining the J. D’Addario team, Gilmartin was employed with KORG USA, where he began by handling the Product Support and Customer Service fields, familiarizing himself in current product issues, product development, and acting as customer service representative for US-based dealers. Climbing the ranks quickly, Gilmartin became Artist Relations Manager at KORG USA. As Artist Relations Manager, Gilmartin provided support and sales to Korg, Marshall and Vox’s vast artist base, working with distinguished artists including Beyonce Knowles, Natalie Cole, Jamie Cullum and Steve Vai. His additional experiences with Customer Service at Samson Technologies in Syosset, NY allowed him to provide sales and support to Samson/Hartke/Behringer artists.
Gilmartin received his degree from Five Towns College in Dix Hills, NY where he was a recipient of the prestigious NAMM Scholarship. He also studied instrument repair and technology. Gilmartin is also an avid guitarist and bassist with genuine interests and understanding of percussion, string and woodwind instruments.
