The Tipbook Company, based in the Netherlands, produces the acclaimed Tipbook series, pocket-sized reference volumes targeting musicians at all skill levels. Meticulously researched and illustrated, Tipbooks offer a wealth of complex information on band and combo instruments, voice, amplification, digital recording and theory. In each instance, the information is contemporary and vast—belying the diminutive size of the slender books. D’Addario & Company has partnered with the Tipbook Company to produce “Mini-Tipbook” volumes, each will address product and instrument information relevant to one of D’Addario & Company’s various brands.
The first two Mini-Tipbooks will feature practical information on reed hardness, reed selection, reed wetting, new reeds, reed lifetime tips, reed replacement tips and tuning tips. The Mini-Tipbooks will be distributed through direct mail pieces, in select Rico products, and it will be posted on the Ricoreeds.com web site. Each mini-Tipbook also includes Web tip codes that provide direct access to instructional videos at www.tipbook.com.
“We’re pleased to team up with the Tipbook Company on this project,” remarks John Roderick, VP of Product Management for D’Addario & Company. “The collaborative result will be a clear articulation of the benefits of our products and instrument and accessory information in an easy-to-use, digestible format. This is sure to be an excellent resource for beginners, advanced players and educators seeking additional resources for their students.”
“We’re thrilled at the chance to cooperate with D’Addario & Company on this promising project,” comments Tipbook Company President Hugo Pinksterboer. “The more a musician knows about a subject, the easier it is to make an informed choice. Even though the Internet has made the world smaller, it’s not always easy to obtain current information and quality products. The D’Addario/Tipbook collaboration aims to make both accessible.”
