Munich, December 6th, 2006 (ictw) — Melodyne plugin offers Melodyne’s unique functions for the editing of pitch and timing for the first time as a plug-in directly integrated into VST-, AU- and RTAS-hosts under Windows XP and Mac OS X. Melodyne plugin will be available from December onwards for 299 € / $ 299. To users of Autotune Celemony is offering a reduced price of 199 € / $ 199, whilst registered users of Melodyne studio 3 will receive Melodyne plugin free of charge. Registered users of Melodyne uno/cre8 can get Melodyne plugin as a Loyalty upgrade for 149 Eur/ USD 149 until February 28th, 2007. After that the loyalty upgrade is 199 EUR/ USD 199.

The main application area of Melodyne plugin is the intuitive correction of the pitch and timing of notes in vocal recordings — a demanding task that Melodyne software handles excellently and in a highly musical fashion for which it has been acclaimed the world over. With Melodyne plugin you can also, however, edit and optimize single-voice instrument recordings as well as drum and percussion tracks in an extraordinarily flexible manner. The algorithm for single-voice material with which Melodyne users are already familiar as well as a new algorithm for percussive material ensure results unimpeachable in terms of naturalness and sound quality.

“The impetus for the development of Melodyne plugin came from the wish of many Melodyne users who most often needed to be able to use Melodyne functions even more swiftly and directly within their preferred host environment,” says Peter Neubäcker, the founder of Celemony and developer of the Melodyne algorithms. “Now we are proud of a very handy product that brings to users within their host the fascination and benefit of Melodyne technology: which is that you can intervene quite literally in the notes of an audio file, moving them individually and with complete freedom upwards or downwards in pitch as well as forwards or backwards in time, time-squeezing or -stretching them as well if desired.”

Once the passage you wish to work on has been transferred from the host track, Melodyne plugin offers you intelligent context-sensitive tools for editing manually the pitch, vibrato, drift, timing, volume and formants of individual notes as well as the swift editing of any selection of notes with macros for the automatic correction of intonation and timing. A multi-level Undo function provides for carefree editing, and a selectable scale grid for harmonically correct transposition. For Pitch, Formants and Volume, rotary controls are provided that permit the real-time manipulation of these parameters and can be automated from the host.

Melodyne plugin will be available worldwide from the beginning of December onwards from music dealers as well as the Celemony Web Shop. The price is 299 € / $ 299. For users of Autotune, PitchDoctor and Pitch’n’Time we are offering a Competitive Upgrade Option (offer valid until the 28th February 2007) for 199 € / $ 199. Registered users of Melodyne essential, Melodyne uno and Melodyne cre8 are entitled to a loyalty upgrade for 149 € / $ 149 limited to February 28th, 2007 - after that for 199€/ $ 199. Registered users of Melodyne studio 3 can obtain the plug-in free of charge.
